Pupils and staff at a school are celebrating after it was branded 'Good' with 'Outstanding' early years provision following an Ofsted inspection.
Bowesfield Primary School, Stockton, received the impressive rating following the inspection - which now sees it become the only school in central Stockton, Yarm, Eaglescliffe and Ingleby Barwick with a grade of outstanding for its nursery and reception classes.
The school team are “delighted to have had their hard work and commitment recognised, as the school secures a good, with outstanding grade”.
Senior leaders are keen to ensure that “Bowesfield Primary School is an oasis of learning, right in the heart of Stockton”.
Children say being a pupil at Bowesfield is like ‘being part of a family’ and because of this they are always keen to ‘do their very best, so they can achieve ‘gold’ awards by following the ‘Be Bowesfield values’.
According to inspectors, Ofsted recognised the curriculum as ‘ambitious’ and stated that it ‘celebrates the diverse community, cultures and languages at the school’ as well as ensuring the curriculum ‘preparing children for life”.
Children told inspectors that they felt supported by the staff team at Bowesfield to become the best they could be so they could be ready for the next stage in their education.
The Early Years Team are incredibly proud of their outstanding judgment in our recent Ofsted, saying: “We are delighted that Inspectors recognised our dedication to creating a purposeful learning environment where 'children get off to a flying start!'
Head Girl Ridhima who Is age 11 and in Year 6 has ambitions to be a doctor when she grows up, said: “At Bowesfield, we aim for the stars and beyond” and the staff always go that extra mile to get us there.
"My favourite thing about Bowesfield is the amazing learning we get to do in our classrooms, which our teachers always make fun and interesting. I also love our incredible outdoor learning space as we have a huge field and so many things to do, including a trim trail.”
And Head Boy Adam, 11, dreams of being a manager of a large Office when he leaves school.

Adam tells us he is ‘proud of so many aspects of Bowesfield school including the fantastic after school clubs, sports coaches and the range of different opportunities we have that help us to learn, stay organised and be ready for secondary school.’
He added: “At Bowesfield if you can dream it, you can achieve it!”
Alongside the praise for the school, Ofsted also highlighted the governors as a real strength of the school - noting: "They play a regular part in school life and are committed to ensuring that school moves towards its ambition to be recognised as an outstanding school and the school of choice for families in the Stockton Central area."
