EYES were drawn to the skies as a North-East kite club held a colourful display.
The North East Kite Fliers (NEKF) put on a show for a family fun day at Horndale Park, in Newton Aycliffe.
Among the five small kites and two large kites to be displayed at the event on Friday was an elephant's head and an octopus.
Tony Stainthorpe, NEKF member, said: "Members came and flew their kites and luckily there was no rain, the wind was alright and we were well supported."
The NEKF was invited by Great Aycliffe Town Council to take part.
Club members have a busy summer programme of appearances.
The NEKF is an open group whose main aim is to promote the hobby and sport of kite building and kite flying in the North-East.
