Forest Green’s winless National League run stretched to four games after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wealdstone in the absence of manager Robbie Savage.
Chairman Dale Vince earlier confirmed Savage had been given permission to speak to Peterborough, who sacked Luke Williams following a poor start to the League One season.
Wealdstone opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark when Fejiri Okenabirhie, making his full debut, pounced at the far post from Joe Newton’s flick-on.
The home side, who had Jonathan Gould in charge, levelled seven minutes before half-time through Tate Campbell’s first goal of the season, converting Sean Etaluku’s cross, while captain Kyle McAllister smashed a shot against a post.
