TIM GRIMWOOD followed in the footsteps of fellow Swaledale Runner and friend Ian Oldham by completing the notorious and famous Bob Graham Round.

The Bob Graham Round, a fell running challenge in the Lake District, is named after Bob Graham (1889-1966), a Keswick guest-house owner, who in June 1932 broke the Lakeland Fell record by traversing 42 fells within a 24-hour period.

Covering the 42 fells, starting and finishing at Keswick Moot Hall, involves 66 miles (106 km) with 26,900 feet (8,200 m) of ascent.

Tim managed to complete the challenge in a time of 22 hours and 24 minutes, an amazing achievement for him and his support crew.

Ian completed the same challenge on July 24 and 25.

Tim is not the only Swaledale Runner to be busy. Club members Ros Blackmore and Jess Young, along with friend Mandy, completed the Coast to Coast last week in just six days.

They covered the 186 mile route through some grim weather, and managed to raise more than £1,000 for the Meningitis Research Foundation along the way.

Not to be outdone, Caroline Graham completed the 40 mile Lakes and Mountain challenge on Saturday, August 16 in a time of 12 hours 15 minutes.
