Norton have appointed former Middlesbrough striker Andy Campbell as their new manager.

Campbell joined Norton as a player in the middle of last season, and he now takes over from Conrad Hillerby, who quit at the end of the season. Former Hartlepool keeper Jim Provett will be his assistant.

33 year old Campbell started his career at Middlesbrough before moving on to Cardiff for £1 million in 2002. He scored the winner in the League One play off final for City, where he played for four years. He went on to play for Halifax, Farsley Celtic, Bradford Park Avenue and Whitby.

Provett has been at Norton for several seasons since he quit as a pro, and will probably continue playing.
