Esh Winning have announced that manager Peter Mulcaster is going to quit at the end of the season.

Mulcaster, who has managed over a dozen Northern League clubs plus Spennymoor in their UniBond days in a managerial career going back nearly three decades, took over in October, but has now told the club that he wants to leave.

Secretary David Thompson said: "We are all sorry that Peter has not found the post satisfying enough to want to continue beyond the end of the season, but respect his decision and we are grateful to him for his effort in what was a very difficult set of circumstances at the time he took up the post. Since then performances have improved and yesterday’s win away to West Allotment Celtic was a performance well overdue and waiting to happen. It is a mark of Peter’s credibility that he has given us this notice and I am confident he will continue to give his best for the club until his departure.

"We will now look to make an appointment in time to take the club forward after Peter’s departure. " Mulcaster took over from Adam Furness, who previously had been appointed during the summer following the departure of Geoff Young.
