After many months of form filling and anxious waiting Thornaby have been informed that they have been awarded £48,000 by the National Lottery -- and now it's full steam ahead to refurbish Teesdale Park.
Thornaby will use the cash to improve the facilities on their ground, which in turn they hope will seal their place in the league, as they were threatened with the boot if facilities weren't up to standard by the end of March.
Secretary and manager Ray Morton said: "I have today recieved notification that we have been successful in the bid for funding and have been allocated £48,000 to be used in the refurbishment of the Park. I intend to appoint contractors as soon as possible to commence the fencing and other work on the park. It's great news, and I've got to thank everyone that helped in the bid process."
