Darlington RA manager Nick Harrison says that his team must be more clever and more ruthless.

After reaching the heady heights of seventh in the second division a fortnight ago, the RA have now dropped 11th in the table after a 4-0 defeat at Crook last Saturdy.

Harrison said: “We are really disappointed with the result at Crook on Saturday.

“We dominated the first half, controlled possession, hit the bar and got plenty of balls in the box but we never quite had the killer touch or bit of luck. We were then punished in a ten minute spell during which we didn't deal with balls in behind our defence and couldn't believe that we were 3-0 down at half-time. The second half was much the same, we played some lovely football but without an end product and Crook (mainly Andy Appleby) just picked us off.

“ I was pleased with the performance in general but within 30 yards of both goals we have got to be a bit cleverer and more ruthless. (We are a bit like how West Brom were in the Premier league under Tony Mowbray!) The signs are good that we can take the squad forward because some of the lads are putting in good performances every week at this level now, its just the 10 per cents that win or lose you games that we need to improve on. It is a sign of our development that we are disappointed to lose to big sides in our division.”
