Spennymoor Town can go top of the STL Northern League tonight.

Champions Moors go to Jarrow Roofing, who are 14th in the table, and manager Jason Ainsley said: “The players must make sure that they are up for this game tonight. No games are easy.” He will probably choose from the same squad that beat Esh Winning in stoppage time last Saturday.

Roofing are missing Dan Carson and Keith Oliver. They have also placed striker Dave Malloy on the transfer list.

West Auckland, who are looking forward to a trilogy of games against the Moors, are at South Shields, and will be missing Stuart Banks, Stephen Brown and Dan Hindmarch because of injury. Shields are expecting to be at full strength.

Esh Winning, who are second bottom, are at home to West Allotment in a six pointer at the bottom of the table, and they include new midfielder Sam Irwin, who has been at Rushden in the past, and has been signed from Ryton. They have also signed Paul Henderson-Reay from Consett. Allotment had a good 2-1 win at Bedlington last Saturday.

Bishop Auckland go to Tow Law hoping for a big improvement on their defeat at Ashington at the weekend. However, they will be missing Adam Emson, Steve Salvin and Arran Wearmouth. Lawyers player-manager Ian Davison is hoping to return after injury, while striker Matty Scott returns after suspension.

Whitley Bay are hoping to bounce back from their weekend defeat at Consett by beating Dunston. Defenders Chris Fawcett and Darren Timmons should both pass fitness tests, while Dunston add Michael Robson and Kane Young to their squad.

In the North Riding Senior Cup, Stokesley go to Scarborough Athletic, who recently signed former Hull striker Dean Windass.
