Shildon missed a chance to go second in the ENL tonight when they were beaten 3-0 at home by Dunston.
Shildon had the better of the first half chances, with Billy Greulich-Smith denied twice by Dunston keeper Liam Connell, who also pulled off a full length save from a Lee Scroggins free kick.
Dunston took the lead just after half time when Andy Bulford found Lee McAndrew, who fired under advancing Shildon keeper Kyle Hayes.
Shildon committed men forward and got caught at the back, when Bobby Moore and Hayes hesitated over a through ball, and Bulford nipped in to score. Dunston made sure of fifth place, when Dale Burrell converted a penalty near the end.
Bishop Auckland’s game at Penrith was called off because of a road accident on the A66, which was closed for several hours.
