Whitley Bay could turn to former Newcastle legend Nobby Solano to be their next manager.
The Peruvian was in the stand as Whitley, who are without a manager following the departure of Leon Ryan almost a fortnight ago, were beaten 7-0 at home by Marske United.
The club has drawn up a shortlist of possibilities for the job, with former Gateshead boss Ian Bogie, former Gateshead and West Auckland boss Anth Smith and ex Whitley Bay coach and Durham manager Adam Furness rumoured to be interested.
After Solano finished playing at Hartlepool three years ago, he was briefly coach at Northern League club Newcastle Benfield, but other that, he has little experience of the Northern League.
