Peter Mulcaster has quit for the second time as Northallerton manager.
Mulcaster decided to resign only minutes after Friday night’s 2-1 home defeat by Billingham Town, in which his side finished with ten men, leaving them nine points adrift of the promotion places.
“It’s the right time for me to go, the club needs a new face in charge,” he said.
“There have been too many defeats, and what’s worse, the manner of them hasn’t been very good.
“I resigned two weeks ago, but the club wouldn’t accept it, but this time I’m quite easy about my decision.
“The season was going ok up till about a month ago when I brought in some new signings, but there has been no real improvement.”
The club has yet to make a decision about a replacement.
