Hartlepool equalled a club record unbeaten run of 21 games thanks to a thrilling 3-3 draw at Stockport.

Pools fought from three goals down in the opening 36 minutes to grab a share of the spoils in an exciting end to end League Two contest.

Danny Wilson's men went a goal behind to a Adam Le Fondre penalty after 24 minutes. Ben Clark and Micky Barron failed to deal with a routine punt forward which resulted in the later tripping Liam Dickinson. But there was a hint of controversy surrounding the goal after goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos was fouled in the lead up to the spot kick.

Anthony Elding increased Stockport's lead four minutes later when he lifted the ball over the big Greek shotstopper from the edge of the box, before Dickinson added number three in the 36th minute, which had more than a suspicion of offside about it.

Le Fondre was in acres of space and he squared to Dickinson to net from close range.

But the action wasn't finished there.Andy Monkhouse pulled a goal back seven minutes before the break when unmarked on the left hand side of the box.

Pools were quick out of the box in the second half and a blatant push by Dickinson on Nelson resulted in a penalty, which Richie Barker buried a minute in to the half.

The visitors then levelled through Barker when the striker heldf of the challenge of two men in the box and swivelled to fire past the goalkeeper.

The drama didn't stop there either.

Substitute Tes Bramble was fouled on the edge of the area and the linesman signalled a penalty.James Taylor netted the kick but was ordered to retake it as the fourth official had signalled to the referee. Manager Danny Wilson was then sent to the stands by the match official.

Konstantopoulos then saved the second kick.

The thrills and spills continued at both ends with both sides having chances to win but it all finished level.
