LIKELY LINE-UPS

Poland (4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Piszczek, Jodlowiec, Perquis, Wawrzniak; Dudka, Polanski; Blaszcykowski, Obraniak, Mierzejewski; Lewandowski.

Greece (4-5-1): Tzorvas; Torosidis, Papadopoulos, Papastathopoulos, Tzavelas; Ninis, Katsouranis, Foutakis, Karagounis, Salpigidis; Gekas.

POLAND

As host nation, there will be plenty of pressure on Poland as they kick off the opening game of Euro 2012 in their national stadium in Warsaw.

Their most recent friendly ended in a morale-boosting 4-0 victory over Andorra, and while today's opposition is considerably more testing, expect a positive approach from Franciszek Smuda's side

STAR MAN: Robert Lewandowski - The Borussia Dortmund striker has had a fine season in the Bundesliga and will be Poland's main attacking threat.

GREECE

Having shocked European football once before in 2004, Greece will again attempt to exceed expectations.

Their success in Portugal was built on a rock-solid defence, and while the current side is slightly more attacking than the attritional unit that succeeded eight years ago, there are unlikely to be too many fireworks this afternoon. The midfield will sit deep and Greece's main threat to come on the counter-attack.

STAR MAN: Giorgios Karagounis - The 35-year-old scored Greece's opening goal of Euro 2004 and remains a key component of his side's midfield.

MATCH ODDS: Poland Evens, Greece 16-5, Draw 11-5

FIRST GOALSCORER ODDS: Lewandowski (P) 9-2, Gekas (G) 15-2, Blaszczykowski (P) 8-1, Salpigidis (G) 10-1

BEST BET: Greece to score no goals 7-4

DID YOU KNOW: Greece's opening game of Euro 2004 also pitted them against the host nation, Portugal. They claimed a surprise 2-1 victory and went on to win the tournament.

PREDICTION: While Greece will be difficult to break down, Poland should see enough of the ball to cause them problems. There are unlikely to be too many goals, but the hosts are capable of getting their campaign off to a winning start. 1-0
