NOBBY Solano could miss the next few Hartlepool United games after hobbling off with a hamstring strain in yesterday's thumping at Notts County.

Pools went down 3-0 and the midfielder was forced off in the second-half after stretching to make a pass.

He missed four games earlier in the season with a hamstring strain and could be set for a spell on the sidelines again.

"Nobby has probably done his hamstring again when he stretched for that ball," said Mick Wadsworth. "It's poor, bad luck really, but it's an opportunity for someone else to come into the team.

"A lot of people want to be back in and this could be their opportunity, maybe we can change it. I stuck with the same team and I was going to change it, but would it be unfair to change? Maybe I should have gone with instinct."

Pools were well beaten at Meadow Lane and Wadsworth had no complaints about the outcome after the worst display of the season from his side.

"We have had our backside kicked two years running here," he said. "Last year they halted a fantastic run we were on and done pretty much the same today. They were quicker, stronger, faster than us in every department.

"It's not often a team is tougher than us, but they were. We cannot run away from it. We had a chat about it and will do again in the morning, and get onto it again.

"It's disappointing isn't it? But we were well beaten as a team and it was the first time this season we have had a poor performance as a team - back to front, side to side.

"Too many players weren't at the races to say the least, that's the truth, an honest assessment. It was a really poor effort on our part.

"As a team we have been solid this season and we did not see this coming. If we stay in it at 1-0, then there's half a chance of getting something but the second goal was really poor and we've not been brave enough to hold a high line.

"Our passing was poor, ball retention was as well. We had a little spell second-half, but it was too late and they controlled the game."

He added: "The third goal came because we were too deep again. The back four have been magnificent all season, so who needs to tell them today?

"In the dressing room, they are really disappointed. As Sam (Collins) said, we have come too far to let it slip.

"Sometimes you need a kick up the backside and this is it. We won't let the same happen as last year - no doubt about it.

"We won't have that, the group is too strong. We have had a blip and will have one or two in the future as well, that's football.

"I cannot deny how good Notts County were today, they changed their shape a bit and left Lee Hughes out and Ben Burgess caused us problems with the diagonal ball - I spoke to him in the summer actually. It was a poor game for us and we have to be much better."
