MICK Wadsworth has challenged his strikers to make their mark at Notts County tomorrow.

Hartlepool United are at Meadow Lane seeking to put last weekend's first loss of the season behind them.

And, with 11 goals to their credit on the road, Pools are the second top scorers in away games this season in League One.

They've scored two at MK Dons, Carlisle, Stevenage and Bournemouth and three at Rochdale to earn three wins and two draws from five road trips.

Adam Boyd scored in the first four of those games, only failing to net on the south coast two weeks back as Pools beat Bournemouth 2-1.

Strike partner Colin Nish has three to his name - all at Victoria Park - and Wadsworth admitted: "The strikers need to pick it up a bit more again. The challenge is to improve link-up play and hold-up play and, more importantly, get back on the goals trail.

"Both have done OK this season and at times done very well.

"That they have worked hard and the team has done well means we don't change it too radically, too quickly and I'm sure they will get back to what they were doing."

Last weekend's loss was the first time they had been beaten since losing at Southampton back in April, a run stretching 11 games into last season.

A single goal proved the difference for Sheffield Wednesday and Wadsworth said: "Last week we didn't play particularly well, but with a lot more second half endeavour than the first.

"Little separated the teams, it was mostly us in terms of possession and were unlucky on a couple of occasions, but you could see the relief on their faces at the end and the jubilant nature of their celebrations how much it meant to win at Hartlepool.

"It was a massive win for them, in a sense that's a tick against our achievements thus far this season.

"We've 19 points so far which is a decent total so far. For confidence it's nice not to lose and I felt we deserved a draw at least - but it's gone now and we can't cry into our cornflakes.

"We work really hard for the next run of games. We have lost one and it's important to be more determined, more resolute not to lose the next one.''

Pools are featured on live television tomorrow, their first game in front of the cameras since a 1-1 bore draw at home to Bournemouth in November 2007.

"It's going to be tough at a great, traditional ground and we have to work hard under the glare of the cameras,'' added Wadsworth.

"It's a bit different for us. Maybe this game has substituted Manchester United v Arsenal, which is the sort of game we normally see on a Sunday afternoon.

"It's great to be in the spotlight nationally. We change our training programme during the week and we've done it without fuss.

"They are in form, we are too and we are ready for the test."
