AFTER a two-year hiatus, Darlington boxer Chris 'Hightower' Burton will return to the ring when he takes on Rasani Hastings in the Summer Rumble at Rainton Meadows tomorrow night.
The 30-year-old has been out of action since injuring his elbow while sparring with heavyweight champion David Haye at a training camp in Cyprus.
Now he has recovered, Burton is determined to get his title aspirations back on track and the 30-year-old is confident his first foray into the ring in two years will end in victory.
He said: "I've been dying to get back into the ring. I've said in the past what my goals are and they're still the same.
"I want the fastest possible route to a shot at the British title and I still believe I'll get there.
"I'm more dedicated than I ever have been and I've trained more than I ever have done for this fight.
"I'm 30-years-old now, I know what I want to achieve and I feel I'm a lot wiser now, I've had a new lease of life.
"When you're out injured for so long it does get you down but I'm back now and I can't wait to get in the ring.
"Hastings doesn't get stopped a lot, the fights he has lost have mostly been on points decisions, but I'm very confident I'll be too strong for him and for me there is only one outcome."
