LIVERPOOL have just confirmed they have had a club-record fee accepted for Andy Carroll.
The Newcastle United striker is now on his way to Merseyside to conduct a medical and agree personal terms.
Newcastle are understood to have agreed a £35m offer for the England international, who will become the eighth most expensive player in the history of world football.
A statement on Liverpool's official club website said: "Liverpool FC confirmed this afternoon that Newcastle United had accepted a Club record offer for the transfer of Andy Carroll.
"The Club have been given permission by Newcastle to discuss personal terms with the player, who will now travel to Liverpool for a medical."
