VINTAGE is a reasonably consistent performer in this sphere and the totepool Racing’s Biggest Supporter Handicap looks a good opportunity for him at Lingfield.

A winner over this course and distance in September, he has been off the track since just getting edged out at Kempton later that month.

He will have to contend with some race-fit rivals here but he looks a useful runner for John Akehurst.

Fantasy Gladiator can defy his rapid rise in the ratings and make it a hattrick in the Marriott Breathe Spa Handicap.

The four-year-old was rated 69 back in August after a moderate season on the turf but a switch to the all-weather in the autumn has proved the making of him and he lines up here on a mark of 87.

While that is a massive jump in the weights, Fantasy Gladiator is a most progressive performer and his confidence is riding high after two wins at Kempton.

He defied a 6lb rise on the latter occasion and still won by a comfortable three and a half lengths, without really having to put in maximum effort.

Although he has yet to win at Lingfield, Fantasy Gladiator has run well at the Surrey venue before and it would be dangerous to ignore his obvious claims.
