CHRIS Turner has called on his squad to follow the example of Ritchie Jones.

After dropping the midfielder from his Hartlepool United side last month, Jones returned with an impressive show in last weekend’s win at Swindon.

He will stay in the side for tomorrow’s game with Tranmere.

“I have a squad of players here and they are all in my plans,’’ said Turner. “We left Tony Sweeney out, we left Leon McSweeney out, Ritchie Jones as well and players who are left out don’t sulk and hide, they roll their sleeves and want to get back in.

“Ritchie was outstanding last weekend at Swindon and he set the example of what people have to do to get back in.

“Others have to look at that and see what they have to do to get back into the team. All the squad are vital to us and they will be involved at some stage, it’s up to them to cement their place.’’ Turner has no fresh injury worries as Pools aim to secure back to back wins for the first time since October 2008 when they won four in a row.

Rovers secured a victory over Brighton last weekend, after axing John Barnes, and they now under the temporary stewardship of physio Les Parry.

Turner said: “From last weekend’s good result this is a chance for back to back wins. They will be difficult opposition, and just had a win at home to Brighton and will be thinking the same as us.

“It will be a tough one, teams don’t come to us to lose, they come for a point like Brentford did. If they attack if suits us fine because when teams attack us we are as good as anyone in this league.

“Their situation had them one point off the play-offs last season and Ronnie Moore left. John Barnes lasted a few games and now have Les Parry – we treat them with every respect as we would anyone.

“We prepare the same, no lighter than usual. The spirit is great in the camp and we have a winning mentality which we want to kick on.’’
