RISING table tennis star Ella Pashley says going behind the scenes at the Commonwealth Games has inspired her to work hard towards her goals.
Pashley, who is 17 and from Guisborough, was part of the Team England Futures initiative during the Games in Glasgow recently.
She got to see ‘behind the curtain’ of a multi-sport environment, mixing with international talent past, present and future and gaining a better understanding of what it takes to compete at that level.
She was nominated by Table Tennis England to take part, having been identified as having future multi-sport Games potential.

Pashley, who also competed for England at the World Team Table Tennis Championships in London earlier this year, said: “Attending the Commonwealth Games was an inspiring and memorable experience.
"It gave me the opportunity to meet other talented future athletes from a wide range of sports, all of whom shared the same ambition of one day competing at the Commonwealth Games.
“Talking to them about their journeys, training, and aspirations helped me learn more about their sports while also reinforcing my own goals.
“I was able to watch a variety of different sports in unique competition settings such as athletics, cycling, bowls, netball and basketball, gaining a greater appreciation for the skill, preparation and dedication required to perform at the highest level.
“The experience motivated me to continue working hard towards my dream of representing England at the Commonwealth Games in the future.”
