Middlesbrough are in action when they take on Preston in the Championship on Wednesday.

Here are all the details you need to know about the game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Having lost to Bristol City at the Riverside on Saturday, Middlesbrough head out on the road this week as they take on Preston at Deepdale.

Boro will be attempting to complete a league double after thrashing Preston 4-0 in their joint-biggest win of the season in November thanks to goals from Isaiah Jones (2), Rav van den Berg and Alex Bangura.

Boro have a poor recent record at Preston, having lost on their last three visits to Deepdale, scoring two goals and conceding nine.

Last season’s away game at Preston was Michael Carrick’s first match in charge, and saw Boro lose 2-1 despite taking a seventh-minute lead through Chuba Akpom.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Wednesday’s game kicks off at 7.45pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

Yes – Boro were allocated 3,000 tickets for Wednesday’s game, and there is still availability via the club’s official website.

Away tickets for Deepdale are priced at £30 for adults, £22 for Over-65s and 19-24s, £11 for 11-18s and £5 for Under-11s. Travel to and from Preston is available via the Travel Club and is £25 for adults and £20 for Under-18s, with coaches leaving from the Riverside Stadium at 3.30pm.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

Yes – Wednesday’s game is being televised live on Sky Sports and will be available on the Sky Sports Football channel via the red button.

With the game being broadcast live on TV, there is no domestic streaming available.

Radio coverage of Wednesday’s game will be available on BBC Radio Tees, and The Northern Echo’s Dominic Shaw will be at the John Smith’s Stadium producing a live blog, report, ratings, reaction and analysis on The Northern Echo’s website.

WHAT IS MIDDLESBROUGH’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

Michael Carrick will be hoping that Josh Coburn is available for Wednesday’s game. The striker was absent from the squad for Saturday’s defeat because of an ongoing groin issue.

Seny Dieng and Riley McGree were both on the bench at the weekend, and will be pushing for a place in the starting side. Dieng could replace Tom Glover in goal, while McGree will hope to return to the Boro midfield.

Sam Greenwood has started as the central striker in the last two games, and if Coburn doesn’t make it, Carrick will have to decide whether to stick with the Leeds loanee or select Marcus Forss through the middle.

Luke Thomas could replace Lukas Engel at left-back, but Isaiah Jones and Emmanuel Latte Lath are expected to remain unavailable because of injury issues.

Middlesbrough (probable, 4-2-3-1): Dieng; Ayling, van den Berg, Fry, Thomas; Howson, Hackney; Forss, Azaz, McGree; Greenwood.

HOW ARE PRESTON SHAPING UP?

Preston head into the midweek programme sitting in tenth position in the table, two places and four points clear of the Teessiders, having played a game more than their midweek opponents.

Ryan Lowe’s side claimed a 2-0 win at Cardiff City at the weekend, and have lost just one of their last five matches.

Provided there are no late injury issues, Lowe could well stick with the same XI that triumphed at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Kian Best and Duane Holmes missed the weekend game because of injury, and are expected to be absent again.

Preston (probable, 3-5-2): Woodman; Storey, Lindsay, Hughes; Potts, Browne, Whiteman, Frokjaer-Jensen, Millar; Keane, Riis.
