7 Glover: Excellent pointblank save to deny Furlong early on. Calm with his feet. Good clean sheet.

7 Dijksteel: Couple of sloppy moments in possession early on but grew into the game and was excellent in the second half.

8 van den Berg: Other than two first half chances in quick succession, West Brom didn’t look like scoring. Hugely impressive return to the side and had goal disallowed.

9 Fry: Another outstanding defensive display on the back of his superb showing at Port Vale. Dominant in the air. Didn’t give West Brom much hope.

8 Engel: Got forward at every opportunity in first half. His pass set Jones set away for controversial Kipre moment and he set up Rogers goal with fine cross. Solid in the second half.

8 Howson: Alongside Barlaser, dominant in the midfield. Won the battle against ex-Boro loanee Alex Mowatt. A couple of crunching first half tackles.

9 Barlaser: Superb in the first half and his defence splitting pass created the opening goal. So calm, assured and incisive in possession. Terrific performance.

8 Jones: Caused problems in the first half drifting in from the right. Kipre foul should have resulted in red card. Threat on the break in the second half, linking up well with Dijksteel and Rogers.

7 Greenwood: Missed a sitter but part of new-look attack well that coped so impressively well in absence of a recognised striker.

9 Rogers: Made his finish for the breakthrough goal look easy, just as he did at Port Vale in midweek. Pulled the strings after the break, setting up Greenwood for his sitter and Jones for another chance soon after.

7 Silvera: Worked hard in unfamiliar striker role and linked up well with those around him.
