6 Dieng: Untested in the first half. Not at fault for either goal.
6 Dijksteel: Linked up well with Jones and Crooks in the first half. Wasn’t as effective going forward in the second half as Hull started to ask questions.
6 Fry: Comfortable and hardly tested in the first half. Won his battles but was let down by those in front.
7 Van den Berg: Very assured in the first half. Like Fry, even in the second he wasn’t particularly stretched but Hull took their two chances.
7 Engel: Boro’s best player in the first half. Made several interceptions, got forward at every opportunity and played major part in early opener.
6 Howson: Controlled the game in the first half but lost his grip in the second. Could do with Hackney back alongside him.
4 Barlaser: Tidy in the first half but completely lost control in the second. Lost his man for the first goal and failed to clear for the second when he left the ball slip underneath his boot.
5 Jones: Lively early on but let down by his final ball. Went missing after the break.
5 Crooks: Too many heavy touches in the first half, largely anonymous after the break.
5 Greenwood: Had a hand in the goal when he played in Engel and the pair linked up well at times in the first half, but Boro needed more from the Leeds loanee, who was the first player replaced when Carrick turned to his bench.
6 Latte Lath: Took his goal well and was bright in the first half. Struggled for service after the break.
