7 Dieng: Defence made life difficult for him. Leeds had 20 shots on goal, nine on target. Boro’s keeper was excellent in second half.

4 Dijksteel: Never got to grips with Summerville, who caught him out for goal. Sent off for lunge when already on a yellow.

5 Van den Berg: Uncomfortable on the ball because of Leeds press. Won't face many tests tougher than this.

5 McNair: Never settled. Troubled by Leeds’ movement and press. Shaky in possession, unlucky for second goal when his glanced header directed ball towards Summerville. Forced off injured.

6 Bangura: Got sucked inside for second Leeds goal which meant Gray was able to cross for Summerville, but stuck at it against ex-Manchester United winger James and making only third Championship start.

7 Howson: Boro struggled in chaotic period after opening goal but the captain helped them get a grip. Tireless on Elland Road return.

5 Barlaser: Gave the ball away after a minute in his own half and did it again in build-up to Leeds equaliser. Travelled well with the ball going forward.

7 Jones: Threat on counter for Boro, almost created leveller for Silvera with brilliant run. Covered at right-back after Dijksteel red card. Frustratingly picked up fifth yellow card so suspended for Ipswich.

6 Crooks: Found pockets of space on the counter but it didn’t quite happen for him.

6 Rogers: Had to work hard defensively against James in support of Bangura. Had his moments going forward. Created early chance for Latte Lath.

7 Latte Lath: So difficult to mark because although he scored two in the first half, he could – should – have had three more. He was a livewire throughout though, worked hard and caused Leeds problems.

Substitutes:

6 Clarke (for McNair, 36): Gave the penalty away immediately after coming but was understandably rusty. Settled and did OK after that.

7 Silvera (for Crooks, 72): Went close to equaliser with cross that was deflected on to post.

6 Coburn (for Latte Lath, 72): Worked hard from bench.

Engel (for Bangura, 82): N/A

Gilbert (for Barlaser, 83): N/A

Subs not used: Glover, Coulson, McCabe, Cartwright

Leeds: Meslier 6, Gray 6, Byram 6, Struijk 5, Rodon 5, Ampadou 7, Kamara 7, James 8 (Gnonto, 82), Piroe 8 (Gruev, 90+3), Summerville 8 (Anthony, 90+3), Rutter 7 (Bamford, 82)

Subs not used: Darlow, Spence, Shackleton, Cooper, Poveda

Man of the Match: Summerville. Leeds winger is too good to be playing in the Championship, as Dijksteel discovered.
