JORDAN Mustoe has left Darlington just six months after joining the club, having only made nine appearances for Quakers.

Left-back Mustoe joined Darlington in the summer after leaving Warrington Rylands and played every minute of the first seven games of the season when Alun Armstrong was in charge.

But the 32-year-old's last appearance for Darlington came in the defeat to Bishop's Stortford back in early September. He was only twice named in a matchday squad after the appointment of Josh Gowling and hasn't played a single minute under the current boss.

Quakers said in a club statement: "Darlington FC and Jordan Mustoe have agreed to cancel the player's contract by mutual agreement with immediate effect.

"Jordan, who signed for us during the summer after leaving Warrington Rylands, made nine appearances for us.

"We would like to thank him for his service, and wish him all the best for the future."

Darlington travel to Southport this weekend looking for a much-needed boost in their battle to avoid relegation from National League North.
