MICHAEL CARRICK has made seven changes to his Middlesbrough side for this evening's Carabao Cup fourth-round game at Exeter City.

Dael Fry, Paddy McNair, Dan Barlaser and Isaiah Jones are the only players to keep their places from the side that started Saturday's league defeat to Stoke City.

As has been the case in Boro's other League Cup matches this season, Tom Glover steps into the side in goal, taking the place of Seny Dieng.

Anfernee Dijksteel starts at right-back, with Alex Bangura getting the nod to line up on the left of the back four.

Hayden Hackney returns from suspension to partner Barlaser at the heart of midfield, with Marcus Forss and Sammy Silvera starting in the attacking-midfield positions.

Emmanuel Latte Lath starts for Boro in attack, with Josh Coburn named amongst the substitutes on the bench.
