DARLINGTON have been handed one of the toughest possible tests in the second round of the FA Trophy with a trip to high flying National League North rivals Scunthorpe United.

Scunthorpe are second in the table and have scored 12 goals in their last two outings, hammering Bishop's Stortford 6-1 and Spennymoor 6-0.

Quakers have been on the receiving end of a Scunthorpe thumping this season, having lost 4-0 at Glanford Park back in August.

The game is due to be played on the weekend of November 18/19, with Josh Gowling's side first facing four crucial league fixtures. Darlington are next in action this coming Saturday when they travel to Farsley Celtic, whose four wins this season have all come away from home.

Darlington today confirmed that goalkeeper David Robson has returned to his parent club Hull City after his loan spell with Quakers came to an end.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the FA Trophy Spennymoor will host Mickleover Sports in the second round.
