Newcastle United return to action on Saturday when they take on Burnley in the Premier League.

Here are all the details you need to know about Saturday’s game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Having enjoyed a great night on Tyneside on Wednesday evening when they knocked Manchester City out of the Carabao Cup, Newcastle are back on home soil on Saturday when they host Burnley at St James’ Park.

Newcastle boast an excellent recent home record against Burnley as their only defeat in their last ten home meetings with the Clarets was a penalty shootout loss after a goalless draw in the League Cup in August 2021. The last time the Magpies lost in 90 minutes against Burnley at home was way back in April 1976, when they were beaten 1-0.

The most recent meeting between the two sides at St James’ came in December 2021, and saw a first-half finish from Callum Wilson secure Newcastle a 1-0 success.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Saturday’s game kicks off at the traditional time of 3pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

Saturday’s game is a sell-out, with all tickets having gone to either season-ticket holders or members.

However, season-ticket holders can still sell their tickets back to the club, with a resale to members being available ahead of kick-off.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

No – Saturday’s game is not being televised live. Highlights will be available on Match of the Day on BBC1 at 10.30pm on Saturday evening.

There is no domestic streaming available.

Radio coverage of Saturday’s game will be available on BBC Radio Newcastle. The Northern Echo’s Chief Sports Writer, Scott Wilson, will be at St James’ Park producing a live blog, report, ratings, analysis and reaction on The Northern Echo’s website.

WHAT IS NEWCASTLE’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

Eddie Howe has confirmed that Harvey Barnes is facing around three months on the sidelines with the foot injury sustained in last weekend’s 8-0 hammering of Sheffield United. The winger does not need surgery, but will not be available until around Christmas.

Newcastle have some other injury concerns ahead of the Burnley game, with Sven Botman, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak all nursing minor issues in the build-up to kick-off.

Botman and Wilson both missed the midweek cup win over Manchester City, while Isak hobbled off in the second half of the game after picking up a knock.

Having made ten changes in the League Cup, Howe is expected to reverse the vast majority of his alterations and revert to something close to the side that played against Sheffield United.

Newcastle (probable, 4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Guimaraes, Longstaff, Anderson; Almiron, Isak, Gordon.

HOW ARE BURNLEY SHAPING UP?

Burnley head into Saturday’s game sitting in 19th position in the Premier League table, having picked up just one point from their opening five matches.

Vincent Kompany’s enjoyed a morale-boosting run-out in midweek, though, as they thrashed League Two side Salford City 4-0 in the Carabao Cup.

Lyle Foster is suspended for Saturday’s game as he was sent off in Burnley’s 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest earlier this month.

Hjalmar Ekdal, Johann Gudmundsson, Michael Obafemi and Darko Churlinov are all unavailable because of injury, while Manuel Benson is also a major doubt after being forced off in the first half of the midweek cup win at Salford.

Burnley (probable, 4-2-3-1): Trafford; Roberts, al-Dakhil, Beyer, Taylor; Cullen, Brownhill; Koleosho, Ramsey, Zaroury, Amdouni.
