Ex-Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence wants to get his career back on track after joining Leeds United on loan from Tottenham.
Spence joined Spurs from Boro last summer but made only four Premier League appearances and new boss Ange Postecoglou quickly decided he wasn't part of his plans.
He's now linked up with Boro's Championship rivals Leeds for the season.
United have paid a £1million loan fee to secure the 23-year-old full-back’s services, but there is no obligation to make the move permanent, according to the PA news agency.
Spence said: "It's a big club, obviously they have a good squad and have the ambition to get back to the Premier League.
"I just want to get playing again, there's a good manager here, I've heard a lot about him and the way he plays, I think it's good for me.
"I've spoken to him and he told me how he wants the team to play, so for me it's the right decision. I will hopefully bring excitement and impress everyone here.
"I'm looking forward to it. I've heard a lot about the fans, I've heard they're very lively."

Spence had a temporary stay at Ligue 1 side Rennes last season along with Spurs team-mate Joe Rodon, who is also on loan at Elland Road this term.
The right-back, who won promotion to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest in 2022, becomes Leeds’ sixth summer signing under Daniel Farke following the arrivals of Rodon, Sam Byram, Joel Piroe, Ethan Ampadu and Karl Darlow.
Leeds were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night after losing on penalties to Salford.
