DAEL FRY has signed a new three-year contract with Middlesbrough.

The Teesside-born centre-half has agreed a new deal that runs to the end of the 2025-26 season.

Fry had been set to head into the new Championship campaign with less than one year of his contract remaining, but the new agreement means any doubts over his long-term future have been removed.

A product of Boro's Rockliffe Park academy, the 25-year-old has made more than 200 senior appearances since breaking into the first-team ranks.

He has represented England at various youth levels,  winning the European Championship as an Under-17, the World Cup as an Under-20 and the Toulon Tournament as an Under-21.

He is the only player remaining at the Riverside from Boro's most recent Premier League campaign, and has previously worn the captain's armband for his hometown team.
