AUSTRALIA’S men’s team will head to Chester-le-Street next September for a One-Day International fixture against England at Seat Unique Riverside.
The ECB have released the international fixture list for summer 2024 this morning, and it features both a men’s and women’s game at Durham’s home ground.
The men’s ODI against Australia, who are returning to English shores for one-day matches next summer off the back of this year’s ongoing Ashes Test series, will take place on Tuesday, September 24.
It will be the third game of a five-match ODI series that also features games at Trent Bridge, Headingley, Lord’s and Bristol.
Earlier in the summer, England Women will be heading to Chester-le-Street for a One-Day International against New Zealand on Wednesday, June 26. That will be the first game in a three-match ODI series that also features fixtures at Worcester and Bristol.
England’s men’s team will take part in two Test series next summer, taking on West Indies in a three-Test series that features July matches at Lord’s, Trent Bridge and Edgbaston, and Sri Lanka in a three-Test series spread over August and September that features matches at Old Trafford, Lord’s and The Oval.
As well as taking on Australia in the ODI series that encompasses a match at Chester-le-Street, the white ball side will start the summer with a May T20 series against Pakistan that features a game at Headingley and also face Australia in three T20s prior to the ODIs.
The women’s team will play T20s and ODIs against both Pakistan and New Zealand, with Headingley staging the final T20 against Pakistan on May 19.
Ticket sales for the international matches will start on August 30, with a public ballot set to be in place for all games.
ECB chief executive officer, Richard Gould, said: “After attracting record ticket sales this summer, it is fitting that the England Women’s team will open the international season next year at an iconic venue such as Edgbaston.
“Next summer’s schedule will see England Women play at more venues and allow more people to see their heroes in action as we look to maintain the growth the women’s game deserves.
“Fans across England and Wales will also get to see our England Men’s World champions in action ahead of their T20 World Cup title defence, before three-match Test series against both West Indies and Sri Lanka.
“We can also confirm that our England Visually Impaired, England Physical Disability, Englan Deaf and England Learning Disability teams will all play next summer and that we are working to confirm those matches.
“We are looking forward to another memorable summer which is set to finish with white-ball series against New Zealand for our England Women’s team and Australia for our England Men’s team.”
