KAMIL CONTEH has left Middlesbrough to join Grimsby Town.

The 20-year-old midfielder has made a permanent move to Blundell Park, joining the Mariners for an undisclosed fee.

Conteh, who is a full Sierra Leone international, heads to the League Two club on the back of a successful loan spell at National League side Gateshead in the second half of last season.

He joined Boro from Watford last summer,  and made half a dozen appearances for the club's Under-21s side before heading to the International Stadium on loan.
