Sunderland return to action when they take on Burnley in the Championship on Friday.

Here are all the details you need to know about the game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Sunderland’s return to action after the international break takes them across the Pennines to face Championship leaders Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Black Cats will be hoping for a better result than in the reverse fixture at the Stadium of Light in October, when they crashed to a 4-2 home defeat.

This will be Sunderland’s first league game at Turf Moor since December 2016, when they suffered a 4-1 defeat in the Premier League. Since then, they have lost 2-0 to the Clarets in the FA Cup, but beaten Burnley 3-1 in the Carabao Cup in August 2019 thanks to goals from Will Grigg, Tom Flanagan and George Dobson.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Friday’s game kicks off at 8pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

No – Sunderland’s allocation of away tickets for Turf Moor is completely sold out. The Black Cats will be roared on by a travelling contingent of more than 2,200 supporters.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

Yes, Friday’s game is being televised live by Sky Sports. The match will be broadcast on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels.

With the game being broadcast live, there will be no domestic streaming in the UK.

Radio commentary will be available on BBC Radio Newcastle and talkSPORT 2, and The Northern Echo’s Scott Wilson will be at Turf Moor providing a live blog, report, ratings, reaction and analysis on The Northern Echo's website.

WHAT IS SUNDERLAND’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

It has not been a good international break for Sunderland, with Dan Ballard and Jewison Bennette both suffering injuries.

Ballard will be sidelined for around three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury, while Bennette will miss the rest of the season after dislocating his shoulder.

Lynden Gooch and Dennis Cirkin are both available for the trip to Turf Moor though after recovering from injury issues of their own.

Niall Huggins is also back in training, but will need a run-out for the Under-21s before he is considered for first-team duty.

Sunderland (probable, 4-2-3-1): Patterson; Hume, O’Nien, Batth, Gooch; Neil, Michut; Roberts, Amad, Clarke; Gelhardt.

HOW ARE BURNLEY SHAPING UP?

Burnley head into Friday’s game sitting on top of the Championship table, 13 points clear of Sheffield United. Vincent Kompany’s side need three more wins to be guaranteed promotion.

Like Mowbray, Kompany has had a number of players away on international duty, and the Burnley boss will be assessing them in the build-up to the game.

He has switched between a back three and back four, but is expected to go with the latter against Sunderland.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Jay Rodriguez were due to step up their recoveries from injury over the international break, and both could feature in the squad.

Burnley (probable, 4-2-3-1): Muric; Roberts, Dakhil, Beyer, Maatsen; Cullen, Cork; Tella, Gudmundsson, Zaroury; Barnes.
