Newcastle United return to Premier League action when they take on Liverpool on Saturday.

Here are all the details you need to know about the game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Newcastle’s final game before the Carabao Cup final will see them take on Liverpool on home soil at St James’ Park.

The Magpies will be out for revenge, with August’s controversial 2-1 defeat at Anfield still representing their only loss in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool have a good recent record on Tyneside, with Newcastle having failed to win any of the teams’ last five meetings in the North-East. The Magpies’ last home win over Liverpool was back in December 2015, when they triumphed 2-0 thanks to an own goal from Martin Skrtel and a 90th-minute strike from Gini Wijnaldum.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Saturday’s game kicks off at 5.30pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

No – Saturday’s game is a complete sell-out, with all tickets now sold.

Prior to kick off at St James’, the Wor Flags group will produce a special display celebrating the life of Sir Bobby Robson on what would have been the former Newcastle manager’s 90th birthday.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

Saturday’s game is being televised live on Sky Sports. The match is available on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels.

As the game is part of Sky’s broadcast service, there will be no domestic streaming.

Radio commentary will be available on BBC Radio Newcastle and BBC Radio Five Live, and The Northern Echo’s Chief Sports Writer, Scott Wilson, will be at St James’ Park providing a live blog, report, ratings and reaction on The Northern Echo website.

WHAT IS NEWCASTLE’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

Bruno Guimaraes remains unavailable as he serves the final game of the three-match ban that was imposed in the wake of his sending off in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final win over Southampton.

Joe Willock is also expected to miss out after suffering a hamstring injury in last weekend’s win over Bournemouth, but Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin should be available despite also suffering injury issues at the Vitality Stadium.

Callum Wilson missed the Bournemouth game because of what was described as a ‘minor hamstring issue’, and the striker remains a doubt for the weekend after training alone for most of this week.

Jamaal Lascelles is available again after recovering from his own injury problem, but Javier Manquillo and Matt Targett are once again expected to miss out.

Newcastle (probable, 4-2-3-1): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Joelinton; Almiron, Gordon, Saint-Maximin; Isak.

HOW ARE LIVERPOOL SHAPING UP?

Liverpool travel to Tyneside buoyed by Monday’s Merseyside derby win over Everton, with the 2-0 victory having left Jurgen Klopp’s side sitting in ninth place in the table, nine points adrift of Newcastle.

Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino came off the bench against Everton as they returned from lengthy injury lay-offs, and the pair are both pushing for a starting spot on Tyneside.

Similarly, while Virgil van Dijk was an unused substitute on Monday, the Dutch centre-half could return to the starting line-up against Newcastle with a full week of training under his belt.

Ibrahima Konate, Thiago Alcantara and Luis Diaz remain unavailable because of ongoing injury problems.

Liverpool (probable, 4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, van Dijk, Matip, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Bajcetic; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo.
