Caolan Boyd-Munce has left Middlesbrough by mutual consent.
Boro say the 23-year-old has been allowed to leave to "pursue a career elsewhere."
Boyd-Munce joined Boro in January last year and scored on his debut in the FA Cup win at Mansfield Town, but made just four first team appearances.
After his exit was confirmed, Boyd-Munce wrote on Twitter: "A really tough decision to leave a special club with special people and some special memories. Thanks for all the love Boro fans."
Although the transfer window is now closed, Boyd-Munce will be able to join a new club as a free agent.
