LOCAL hero Robert Lawson grabbed victory in round nine of the Seat Cupra Championship this afternoon at Croft.
Despite admitting nearly falling asleep while waiting to get onto the grid due to rain causing havoc with the schedule earlier in the day, Lawson emerged victorious when racing resumed.
Lawson, from Barton, who won from the front said: "We are leading the championship at the moment and it was nice to come with a lead to your home circuit with a lot of local support, but to go one better, get a pole position and convert that into a win is just fantastic."
