KENWYNE Jones is fit to face England tomorrow and the Sunderland striker has revealed he and his Trinidad and Tobago team-mates have a score to settle.

Jones was part of the Trinidad side that suffered defeat at the hands of England in the group stages of the 2006 World Cup.

Two late goals denied Trinidad a point and that still hurts Jones, who is determined to gain revenge in Port of Spain this weekend.

He said: I think we are going to see a very good game and I know all of Trinidad wants us to beat England this time around because we were seven minutes away from getting a point when we met them in Nuremberg in 2006."

The former Southampton striker, who moved to the Stadium of Light in a deal worth £6m in August last year, will be fit to face Fabio Capello's men.

Jones chipped a bone in his wrist during the final game of the season against Arsenal earlier this month.

But the 23-year-old has recovered and is included in Francisco Maturana's 18-man squad.

I'm feeling good and we've come through a good week of preparation for the match," said Jones.

"England are coming off a win against the US but I think on Sunday it's going to be a different ball game.

Both teams will give a good showing and it should be a treat for the fans.'' Jones will be joined in the Trinidad squad by Black Cats team-mate Carlos Edwards.

Fellow English-based players Stern John, Dennis Lawrence and Clayton Ince have also been included in the squad.

Maturana said: It's a squad that we have assessed and looked very carefully at in our preparation to play against England and we will work towards making it happen good on Sunday.

I know England are confident because they defeated America on Wednesday but we will not let that affect us. We will play at home and we will hopefully play with the heart and the determination to do well.'' ■ Sunderland have offered professional contracts to eight of their title-winning under-18 side.

Striker Martyn Waghorn made four appearances for the Black Cats first-team last season, including two starts, and he has been rewarded with a contract.

The other youngsters who will sign professional contracts at the Stadium of Light are: Michael Kay, Jordan Cook, Michael Liddle, Jack Colback, Niall McArdle, Jordan Henderson and Nathan Luscombe.
