INJURY problems continue to hamper Yorkshire ahead of tomorrow's County Championship clash with Lancashire, with a shortage of bowling options causing a particular headache.
England paceman Matthew Hoggard heads the list of absentees from the Roses clash with a broken thumb, while Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Deon Kruis and Ajmal Shahzad are also carrying hamstring injuries.
Darren Gough takes over the captaincy from Anthony McGrath after being rested in Yorkshire's previous Championship outing against Surrey.
Gough and one of Richard Pyrah, David Wainwright or Ben Sanderson will replace Naved and Kruis in the side that drew at The Oval.
Despite having a weakened attack, Yorkshire go into the Headingley clash with a psychological edge after dismissing Lancashire for 89, Gough taking 3-17, in yesterday's Friends Provident Trophy encounter.
