AVRAM Grant will attempt to keep his players focused on the job in hand on against Newcastle on Monday afternoon after the euphoria of their Champions League success.

Grant led Chelsea to the final of the European competition for the first time in their history with a dramatic victory over Liverpool in midweek.

Their 3-2 win on the night (4-3 on aggregate) enabled them to set-up a showdown final against Manchester United in Moscow on May 21.

Chelsea's victory came just five days after they had defeated title rivals United at Stamford Bridge and it is the race for the Premier League crown that has brought Grant back down to earth.

The 52-year-old Israeli was less than impressed with West Ham manager Alan Curbishley, who had suggested it would be an 'injustice' if Sir Alex Ferguson's men did not win the title.

United face West Ham at Old Trafford today and Grant insists that while he respects the integrity of Curbishley and his club, he is adamant that he was wrong to air his views in public.

I'm not doubting the integrity of West Ham or Alan Curbishley but I think it's wrong to say things like this because he's involved in the games against United.

West Ham won against them in the last three games."

Grant also insists he is not worried by speculation over his future after exceeding all expectations at Stamford Bridge since succeeding Jose Mourinho in September last year.

Chelsea are currently level on points with Manchester United and Grant is expecting another dramatic weekend in the title race.

When asked whether he had spoken with billionaire owner Roman Abramovich since Wednesday's dramatic victory over Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final, Grant replied: Yes, but it was a private matter.

I have a feeling that you know that he's happy, very happy.

"We are in contact, and he's happy."
