Middlesbrough head into the international break sitting in the relegation zone after a goalless draw with Rotherham United.

Boro have won just two from ten games this season in the Championship and their season is struggling to get going.

Digital Sports Writer Matty Jones was watching the game and scored the player's performances...

BORO XI:

5 Steffen – Did not have a lot to do on the evening but looked unconvincing with what he did

6 Dijksteel – Perhaps not positive enough going forward on the right hand side but did his defensive duties well

6 Fry – Won his battles at the back and was a composed head when playing the ball out

6 Clarke – Struggled with playing out from the back in the first half but grew into the game

5 Jones – Looks to be lacking confidence. Had the beating of his man on the right but checked back far too often

6 Howson – Linked play well from the base of the midfield but could not provide a killer pass

6 Crooks – Battled well and combined with Jones on the right hand side but lacked a cutting edge

5 McGree – Tried to find pockets of space to influence the game but was regularly crowded out

6 Giles – One of his quieter evenings. Not too many dangerous crosses into the box.

7 Watmore – Was Boro’s bright spark all evening and the only one who looked like scoring but spurned too many chances

6 Muniz – Battled well and looked to make things happen but was not provided enough service in forward areas
