SUNDERLAND have suffered a major blow in the minutes before the start of the Tees-Wear derby with Middlesbrough.
The Black Cats' leading scorer, Ross Stewart, has been withdrawn from the starting side after suffering a thigh injury in the warm-up.
Stewart will not feature at the Riverside, with Patrick Roberts taking his place in Sunderland's starting line-up.
Leon Dajaku steps up to replace Roberts on the substitutes' bench.
