SUNDERLAND are being made to wait on the completion of a loan deal for Paris St Germain midfielder Eduoard Michut.

The 19-year-old, who has made six substitute appearances for the French giants, was on the verge of completing a move to Wearside. Michut watched Sunderland in action at the weekend as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Norwich City at the Stadium of Light.

However, reports are now suggesting that new clause has been thrown into the deal at the last minute that the Black Cats are not willing to agree to. As things stand, he is due to head back to France to continue training with PSG.

If a deal can be brokered between the two sides, Michut would become the club's sixth signing of the summer following Dan Ballard, Jack Clarke, Aji Alese, Ellis Simms and Jewison Bennette into Wearside.

There are two days to go until the transfer window slams shut but the biggest priority on the club's mind is finding a replacement for Alex Neil who left the club over the weekend to take the managerial role at Stoke City.

His switch to the Potters was confirmed on Sunday evening as he signs a three year deal on Staffordshire. Assistant manager to Neil at Sunderland Martin Canning is also set to follow him to the Bet 365 Stadium.

Managerless Sunderland are preparing for their next Championship outing where they host Rotherham United tomorrow evening. Canning is set to join Stoke but could well still be in charge for the game at the Stadium of Light.
