MIDDLESBROUGH will be honouring former striker George Camsell with a statue outside the Riverside Stadium.

Camsell, who is the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 345 goals in 453 appearances for the club, will be commemorated outside the home of Boro with his family in attendance on Friday 2nd September at 7:30pm.

In the 1926/27 season, Camsell scored 59 goals which remains an English record for the second tier.

The statue has been created by sculptor Sean Hedges-Quinn and will be unveiled outside the gates of Ayresome Park where he will be alongside current status of Boro legends Wilf Mannion and George Hardwick.
