NEWCASTLE UNITED return to action when they take on Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon (August 13).

Here are all the details of this weekend’s game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Newcastle’s opening away game of the season takes them to the Amex Stadium on the south coast.

The Amex has not been a particularly happy hunting ground for the Magpies in recent years, with Newcastle yet to win a top-flight game at the venue, having drawn three matches and lost their other two Premier League games there.

Travel to the Amex will be difficult this weekend, with a national rail strike planned for the whole of Saturday. For away fans driving to the ground, the Amex’s postcode for SatNav purposes is BN1 9BL.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Saturday’s game has a traditional 3pm kick-off time.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

Newcastle were allocated 3,100 away tickets – and they all sold out to season-ticket holders with 20 points to their name.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

There is no live UK television coverage of Saturday’s game.

The match is scheduled to be screened on Peacock Premium in the USA and Optus Sport in Australia, as well as Abema TV in Japan. There is also due to be live coverage on DAZN Espana in Spain and Hotstar VIP in India.

Highlights will be shown in the UK on Match of the Day on BBC on Saturday evening.

There is no UK streaming available, but there is live radio coverage on talkSPORT 2 as well as BBC Radio Newcastle.

Chief Sports Writer Scott Wilson will be at the Amex for The Northern Echo, and will be providing live coverage via a blog on The Northern Echo website as well as a post-match report, ratings and reaction.

HOW WILL NEWCASTLE LINE-UP?

With Jonjo Shelvey set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, there is every likelihood that Eddie Howe will stick with the starting side that secured a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend.

That would mean Dan Burn making his first return to the Amex since he completed a £12m move from Brighton to Newcastle in January. He is set to partner Fabian Schar at centre-half, with the Swiss defender once again expected to get the nod over summer signing Sven Botman.

Javier Manquillo, Jamal Lewis and Federico Fernandez are all now back in training, although there is a question mark over the fitness of Jamaal Lascelles, who dropped out of the squad to face Forest after suffering a thigh injury during the warm-up.

Newcastle (probable, 4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Burn, Targett; Willock, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Saint-Maximin.

HOW ARE BRIGHTON SHAPING UP?

Brighton enjoyed a superb start to the season as they sprung a surprise by beating Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford last weekend.

Given the quality of his side’s performance in their opening game, there is every chance that Seagulls boss Graham Potter will also look to name an unchanged side.

Tariq Lamptey is pushing for a starting spot at right wing-back, having come off the bench at Old Trafford, while Danny Welbeck is set to retain his place as Brighton’s central striker.

Brighton (probable, 3-5-1-1): Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Webster; March, Gross, Mac Allister, Caicedo, Trossard; Lallana; Welbeck.
