MIDDLESBROUGH will kick off the 2022-23 Championship season with a televised home game against West Brom.

The Baggies will visit the Riverside on Saturday, July 30 for the opening match of the new campaign, with the game kicking off at 5.30pm to accommodate live coverage on Sky Sports.

Boro's first away game takes them to Loftus Road for a game against QPR on August 6, with August also featuring home matches against Sheffield United and Swansea.

The opening derby match of the new season is scheduled for September 3, with Boro hosting Sunderland at the Riverside.

With the 2022-23 Championship season featuring a winter break because of the World Cup in Qatar, Boro's final match before the shutdown will see them travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich on November 12.

They then return to action with a home game against Luton on December 10, before hosting Wigan on Teesside on Boxing Day.

They travel to Blackburn for their final match of 2022 on December 29, before 2023 begins with a New Year's Day trip to Birmingham City.

The away game at Sunderland's Stadium of Light will take place on January 21, with Boro's final away match of the campaign taking them to the New York Stadium to face Rotherham on April 29.

The season then ends with a home match against Coventry on May 6.
