LEON Dajaku’s loan spell at Sunderland has been made permanent after a clause in his contract was triggered following their promotion from League One to the Championship.

Ther German winger, who has been on loan from German side Union Berlin, will make his stay on Wearside permanent after their Wembley victory over Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend. However, the length of the contract has not been disclosed.

The 21-year-old has played 27 games for Sunderland this season and scored four goals. However, due to a combination of illness and injury along with the form of the Black Cats, Dajaku has featured just three times under current manager Alex Neil.

The expiration of his loan deal will crystalise into a permanent move once it comes to an end on the June 30th. Dajaku will report back to the club on June 22nd before the club fly out to Portugal for a week long training camp.
