MIDDLESBROUGH have detailed their pre-season schedule over the summer months before their start of the Championship season.

Boro will have two domestic friendlies either side of a week long trip to Portugal. Their pre-season campaign gets underway on Saturday July 2nd where they will stick to tradition by facing Northern League side Bishop Auckland at Heritage Park.

Chris Wilder’s side will then head to Portugal on Saturday July 9th where at least one friendly game will be played. North-East neighbours Sunderland, who were recently promoted to the Championship, will also be out in Portugal around the same time.

Boro then head to League One side Morecambe for a midweek friendly 11 days before the start of their Championship campaign on Saturday July 30th.

The club are expected to announce further friendlies during the week between the first friendly against Bishop Auckland and their training camp abroad.

As is tradition, the club are also hopeful of organising a friendly at the Riverside Stadium a week before the first game of the season.
