MARSKE United striker Adam Boyes may well play in the Northern Premier League East Division but will step out onto the home of English Football this weekend thanks to the magic of the FA Cup.

Boyes has been given the honour of leading out FA Cup finalists Chelsea and Liverpool at Wembley this weekend for finishing as the competition's top scorer this season.

The Seasiders particiaption in the FA Cup saw them make it through five rounds as the club's star striker helped himself to 11 goals before they were knocked out by National League North winners Gateshead in the fourth qualifying round.

Boyes will line up alongside the likes of Mohammed Salah, Romelu Lukaku and Sadio Mane tomorrow afternoon as the two Premier League giants battle it out for England's oldest competition.

Boyes told ITV Tyne Tees: "It's a great achievement. I never expected it to happen.

"You watch the top scorers go up every round, you see yourself near the top and then you see people knocked out and think I might have a chance here.

"I think I've won it now unless Sadio Mane scores eight or nine in the final!

"It's going to be surreal. It's going to be a great day no matter what. I just hope it's a great game and we all have a good day."

As part of the FA Cup's 15- year anniversary, he will also be awarded a golden ball.

As well as 11 goals in their cup competition, Boyes helped himself to 46 goals in 48 games in total as Marske United were promoted to the division above.

They beat Stockton Town 2-1 in their play-off final at Mount Pleasant.
