MIDDLESBOUGH midfielder Joe Gibson has signed a new contract with the club.
The Under-23s skipper's existing deal was due to expire in June, but the 20-year-old has penned a new two-year contract at Rockliffe Park.

Gibson made his first-team debut in an FA Cup tie against Mansfield Town in the 2021-22 season, and has been a near ever-present in the Under-23s side this season, only missing two games due to his first involvement with the first team.
"It's a very proud moment for me signing a new contract," said Gibson. "I've been here since I was eight and I'm buzzing to sign for two more years.
"It's been a good season personally. I've been a regular in the U23s and made my first team debut. It's been demanding and been really enjoyable.
"Hopefully, I can come back in pre-season and kick on and impress."
